Can I just say that no band rocked harder in the 80's than Def Leppard! They headlined MixFest 2002 in Boston last night and man were they great! High energy, standard 80 power chords, disgustingly sick solos that had me in awe (always great to have two lead guitars), and harmonies that set the standard for bands to come. Ahhh, now that I got that off my chest....Pink kicked ass too! No, seriously, she covred 4NonBlones - What's Going On and did a sick Janis Joplin Medley. Her lyrics are pretty intense too, I recommend giving her a close listen, not just a "oh, another pop star" brush off. Okay, enough from Mike D's plunge into the not so pop mainstream. Oh yeah, David Gray, John Mayer and Guster were other performers too. I think the radio is slowly understanding what makes up good music. Hmmm, next year's MixFest...Flag of the Shiners?
