I think the weirdest thing about this tournament has not been the lack of voters, or the hard-core favorites coming through, but the frequent absence of commentary! I'm as guilty of it as anyone else, though. But anyway, lest the final match go by without a comment, it's great to have my first and third favorite State Radio songs taking up these two slots and it's fantastic to see Rash finally get the victories it deserves. Looks like it's doing pretty well here, too.

For me, Rash has a muted political call through an intense personal lens - as opposed to Mountain which has an overt political outcry. I'm personally drawn therefore (in this match) toward Rash.
But seriously, these are two fantastically heavy songs that are emblematic of SR. Great final match.

Awesome to see what was once a laughed at prediction of Rash to finally pull through this year come to fruition in a decisive final victory.

Yeah. Rash just barreled through this thing, sweeping every time. That's what ya call winning in style! It's all I hoped for but believed impossible given previous tournaments.

this makes me strangely happy and satisfied

rash has been my favorite since i heard it. i listen to it very, very rarely (in fact, i may be able to recall every time i've listened) because i don't want to overhear the beauty of it. it was such a pivot point for sr and even though they didn't progress into all-anthem-all-the-time, its influence can still be heard in other tunes.

edit: and mountain. obviously it fucking rocks. mike really brought the heat during the outro - something the recording lacks. my reaction to when i first heard it way back when "whoa, this is different [than dispatch]"

Voted Mountain. Ever since the first time I've heard it I've loved it, and it's because of mountain that I've followed State Radio for a decade.
(but by that logic its only because of Time Served that I heard Mountain)
